Humboldt High School

Saint Paul, Minnesota

At A Glance

Loucks provided civil engineering design for the multi-phased renovation and addition project at Humboldt High School. The project included a relocated main entry plaza with a reconstructed parking lot, including new accessible parking stalls and routes. The five foot grade separation between the parking lot and entry door made creation of the new accessible route a challenge, which required creative use of retaining walls and stairs to provide appropriate access.

Holy Family Academy

St. Louis Park, Minnesota

At A Glance

Holy Family Academy is in a residential neighborhood on a relatively small site. Close collaboration was required between the Owner, Architect, and the Loucks team to develop a plan for expansion that fit the site and neighborhood. Loucks explored several building and site layout options early in the process to help the owner make the best use of their site. This design process successfully delivered a new building expansion and site amenities meeting the program needs of the school. The building expansion included a new gymnasium, entry, classrooms, and meeting rooms. Site improvements included a renovated vehicular drop-off lane and parking, relocated playground, open lawn, building loading area, underground stormwater facilities, garden space, and site landscaping.
